Each year Llantwit Major celebrates the ever growing ‘Illuminations Event’. A major part of the day is the lantern parade where hundreds of local residents carry brightly coloured lanterns of all shapes and sizes, (this year’s theme being under the sea), through the streets of the old town. As well as getting the community together in the workshops and the parade itself, the parade collects money for local charities.

The parade supports The Cystic Fibrosis Gene Therapy Consortium, and this year, local charities Mind in the Vale of Glamorgan and ValePlus were selected.

Lisa Morgan and Lucy Thomas visited Western Vale Mind to present the cheque of £250 and commented, ‘it was great to visit Western Vale Mind to present the cheque and to see first hand the social and practical support available in the area.’

Mind in the Vale would like to thank all who were involved and made a donation.
