 Llantwit Major Project

 

The Project is an open access mental health resource centre located in Llantwit Major supporting people with mental health problems.

Summary of aims & objectives:

Mind in the Vale's Mental Health Resource Centres aim to provide:

 

  • A social centre with activities shaped by the people who use it

  • Information on a wide range of issues and resources
  • Support for people in developing the skills, experience and confidence they need to find fulfilling occupations
  • Assistance in helping people get the help and support they need from other organisations

Services: 

  • In addition to providing information, advice and support in a friendly setting, the Rainbow Project also organises activities, courses and events using a variety of community venues and resources.
  • Good value lunches are provided.
  • A range of courses aimed at creative and vocational development and achieving a sense of well-being.
  • Volunteering opportunities and support to develop the skills, experience and confidence needed to find fulfilling occupations.
  • Outreach service for information, advice and support.
  • Signposting to other agencies and organisations to help you get the support you need.

 

The RaCentre is open for people to drop in Mon, Fri 10am to 4pm and Tues 10am to 2pm with various groups and activities at other times in a variety of other venues on other days.

Resources: 

  • Information on adult education courses and support for those wanting to enrol
  • Free computer and internet access
  • Books and information on various mental health and other relevant issues; 
  • Volunteering
  • Emotional and Vocational support
  • Signposting to other organisations and agencies (housing, CMHT, counselling etc)
  • Good value lunches and drinks

Groups

  • The Western Vale Young Persons Group - a support network for young people aged 18-35. Thursday 5pm - 9pm, various venues

 

Over the Rainbow

A women’s support group with a special focus on depression and anxiety. The group provides a support network for women aged 18 years and over. Guest speakers covering areas such as women’s health to volunteering and further education. 
 

Wednesdays 10 am – 12 pm unless stated otherwise.
 **Please note - there is no women's group on the first Wednesday of each month**

    The closest bus stops are the Whiteways Bus stop on Llanmaes Road and the Boverton Bus Stop on Eagleswell Road.

    The closest rail station is the Llantwit Major station (10 minute walk)

    Free parking along the road.
